Collecting Donations
How do I collect donations?
We recommend that you encourage people to donate directly to your Women’s Mental Health Australia online fundraising page. That way, you will be able to keep a running tally of how much you have raised, and donors will automatically receive a tax receipt via email. You can also collect cash donations and donate them directly to your online fundraising page using your credit card.
Will my donors get donation receipts?
They sure will! And all donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. As soon as they’ve donated to your page, they’ll receive a donation receipt via email.
If someone makes a cash donation and asks for a receipt, please contact us with their name, donation amount, postal address and email and we will process and send a receipt manually.
Alternatively, you can process their cash donation in their name on your fundraising profile with your credit card and they will automatically receive their receipt. The funds will also appear against your profile instantly.
How do I donate cash?
If preferred, you can donate the cash via EFT. Once completed, contact us within 5 business days with the following details and we will manually credit it to your profile and generate a receipt for your donor.

Legal and Safety
Do I need to have public liability insurance for my event?
If the event you are hosting is a public event, generally, you will require public liability insurance. Unfortunately, WMHA cannot provide you with this insurance for your event. This is something you will need to arrange yourself and rules and providers vary from state to state.
How can I run a fundraiser through another business?
As part of the registration process, our Fundraising Officer will reach out to you and provide you with a letter of authority to fundraise. You'll be able to use this letter to approach local businesses for their support.
